About Me

My name is Peter Raven - I’m the owner of Techmodel.co.uk. I’m a freelance 3d designer specialising in technical illustration, technical 3d modelling and technical 3d animation. I work from a private address in Brampton - close to Huntingdon racecourse. I originally set-up Techmodel to assist private inventors with the demonstration of new ideas and inventions, but now offer my specialist 3d design services to any individual or businesses located within Cambridgeshire.

I create a range of 3d animation sequences, output them at various formats and supply them via the internet or on CD / DVD. Although it may sound simple, the complete process is quite complex requiring the use of cad, 3d modelling, 3d animation, video rendering, video editing, image editing and DVD authoring software. Having the required software & hardware and knowing how to use it is just part of the sequence creation process. Creating a high quality, visually descriptive, universally understandable 3d animation sequence requires many different skills and many years of experience.

I am a trained tool / pattern maker and have worked in mechanical & electronics industries. I have designed and built machinery and equipment and have designed and patented several designs including an interactive bi-directional rotary engine. I have both artistic and technical abilities and have various qualifications including science, physics, maths & technical drawing. Although I now create computer generated images, I have previously produced both drawing board & freehand technical illustrations. I specialise in creating animated 3d engineering models / sequences, but will consider most subjects including architectural.

My customers are always pleased with my work and some have gained contracts as a result of it. Unfortunately, many of the sequences I have produced are confidential and I am therefore unable to show them on this site. If your design is non-confidential and you have no objections to it being seen by my site visitors, I can show your CGA sequence on this website free of charge for 12 months.
