V12 Model

The 4 cam, 48 valve, V12 engine shown in the V12 demo has more than 1,200 individual components, built from over 10,000 objects and uses more than 1,000 animation tracks. This cad-accurate technical 3d model was created with Cinema 4D and has correct valve / ignition timing, firing order, compression ratio, etc. We designed and built this V12 model to create a technical 3d animation sequence that wold demonstrate our modelling & animation skills.

We designed the V12 engine from scratch using our knowledge of automotive engineering. The design is not perfect, but it is a reasonable representation of a V12 internal combustion engine. Designing the engine from scratch was necessary to prevent any infringement of manufacturers patent rights and enables us to use and distribute the model / design without restriction. Any similarity between this design and any other design past or present is purely coincidental.

This complex design shows how computer technology has changed over recent years. When we first built this V12 3d model our computers almost came to a standstill. Fortunately, hardware has now caught up with the capabilities of our software and the latest high-spec computers enable us to produce 3d models and 3d sequences of virtually any complexity. Although we specialise in creating animated 3d engineering models / sequences, we also create architectural and household models / sequences.
